The Blakely-Early County Recreation Department was organized in 1980. At that time five sports, including baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, and flag football were offered to the youth of our community. We now offer sports to children ages 5 to 17 (18 year olds are recognized as adults by the state agency now.) The number of children participating in sports with BECRD was over 800 for 2003. The figure is being recalculated for 2004. The recreation department in Blakely is proud to offer a wide variety of programs for people of all ages. We would also like to take this moment to thank each of our Sponsors. Without their generous support, programs such as these could not be offered in the manner that they are. |
